 Has anyone considered making journals for their own characters (especially RP ones)? I think it would be fun :) but AFAIK the ones in the past are usually mouthpieces for weird opinions (according to the lolcow thread).

I did some research that Dreamwidth allows accounts with the same email but it must be under a different username.

okay, this is going to be a bit more of a hateful post, but god sometimes i hate glamfur revival art. it tends to look so.. tumblr-fied. like, no, your bastardized depictions of 'omg edgy!!1!11' satanist furby animals who all look like they're melting with those stupid droopy eyes and maws don't read as 'glamfur' at all. i'm not the glamfur police, but how do you expect me to see THAT and say that it's glamfur? HOW??? i'm not saying that you shouldn't participate in glamfur or whatever, but it pisses me off when i see people posting some weird ugly ass lumpy furfag drawing and try to shill it as glamfur, 2000s, whatever... just.. no. it really isn't.

and look, there are times where the droopy-ness does actually kind of work, like with squeekbat's newer art, but a lot of the time it just looks hideous and gross. there's also the people who actually have pretty decent styles, but again don't really read as 'glamfur'. those people are a bit more forgiveable though, at least their art is easy to look at and doesn't look like some vomited a chewed-up carebear on a canvas and called it art.

also 5+ brownie points if you know who i'm talking about. ;P sorry for the hate post but i felt like posting something but this was like, the only thing on mind at the time.

Katie's idea was fab. I'm in.
Before I discovered glamfur (probably late 2023-mid 2024), I wasn't exactly into sparkledogs *oops* , I was interested in the late 2000s emo/scene crowd (because everybody on the internet was hyping about it) and then I quit because it wasn't for me. At the time I was cranking the type of art you would find on that "OMG!!! YOUR OUTFIT IS SO SLUTTY!!! CAN I BORROW IT?" posters.

One day I was browsing Pinterest (late 2024), and then one artwork popped up. It wasn't exactly glamfur, but it was Barachan's art. One was probably her character for a Christmas picture, one was a character in long denim skirt and another one was an alligator girl. I was mind blown. Her art was pretty. By the way. Her artwork summoned more similar artwork like J. Axer's and Arphalia's.

Lobehold, it's like a gateway to weird art I've never seen before. Sinnistar/Unity, Kaz, Kur, Leelee, Charmaine. Oh. My. God.

I was so bedazzled by those clothes, hair highlights (especially Kaz's), weird attitude and too much sparkly stuff.
Y'know wut? I'm in ;P
Ultimately, I ditched all of my old art and tried to replicate most of the art. It wasn't perfect.

I didn't even know it had a name until I discovered that the archiver (straitjacket) put "Glamfur" in the title. "Oh. So that's what it's called" and then I searched the name up on the net and found a Tumblr blog, the dead livejournal about glamfur, and the lolcow thread that died 3 years ago.

I thank Barachan and the twisted algorithm o____o

P.S. I also saw/liked Zeriara's old art, but after I learned from lolcow that she was a horrible person I was shook .____.

I just randomly thought about this and thought it would be interesting to hear your stories about how you came about to liking this subculture. >___> I'll start:

Back then (2023-early 2024 I believe), I used to be a generic sparkledog artist going by the name RaverLovesKitties on dA, drawing a lot of, well, sparkledogs... I remember that I watched a lot of nuglamfur-adjacent artists back then too but didn't really know that they were glamfur. My memory's a bit blurry, but one day I remember searching up something and a piece of Kur's art appeared in the results, said art being this one (I think I also saw some of Unity's art earlier than that too? though it didn't really drive me to get influenced by this style of art like kur's did):


and, well, as expected, I instantly fell in love. I tried really hard to replicate the style and stuff, and that love still burns brightly today, even if my art strayed, far, FAR away from my original more Kaz+Kur inspired style. I then decided that my old art wasn't really good enough so I purged my account and started anew. I still have some of my old art archived but some of it has been completely lost sadly :( but there you have it, my story. would love to hear some you guys' stories soon too ^____^

Holy smokes! First post in the group, yay, but here's an updated reference sheet for Chisa I spent all day on.  I remembered that there was this glamfur journal in LJ that suddenly died out in 2013, and after a while I decided to make one for dreamwidth, because it would be fun seeing people talk about it. Maybe. SO, I did the icon, and spent half an hour finding the code to the old livejournal theme. 

LO AND BEHOLD, NU-GLAMFUR.
